Your Urban Farmer
Mimi’s Microgreens is a small urban farm located in Deale Maryland. I have always loved to garden and share my produce with friends and family. Growing microgreens hydroponically allows me to grow from my home all year. My microgreens are grown using only seeds and water. No fertilizer or pesticides are used. Crops are grown in 11-21 days and can be grown to order. I am currently selling at Honey's Harvest Farm, Anne Arundel Farmers' Market and the SoCo Market.
WHAT ARE THEY?
1. the shoots of salad vegetables such as arugula, Swiss chard, mustard, beetroot, etc., picked just after
the first leaves have developed.
Researchers studied 25 varieties of micro vegetables and herbs and found that they contained 4 to 40 times the amount of certain key nutrients and antioxidants as their fully mature counterparts.
HOW ARE THEY USED?
Microgreens are little seedlings of edible plants that are often used to add color and flavor to meals. They're much smaller than regular greens, even "baby" greens, and have grown in popularity in the restaurant industry.
